Where your course emails are sent from

Every course decides which address its lessons are sent from. There are two options, and the setting is per course, you can run one under your own name and another under ours.

In practice the sender name is what a learner actually reads. Most mail apps show it in bold and hide the address entirely until you tap it.
Which to choose
If your course has no quizzes or decision points, send under your organization's name. Someone who signed up on your page, for your course, should see your name arrive in their inbox, not the name of a platform they have never heard of.
This matters most for the first email. It arrives moments after someone hands over their address, when they are still deciding whether this was a good idea, and an unfamiliar sender is the difference between opening it and reporting it as spam.
If your course has quizzes or decision points, read the next section first, the choice costs you something.
You cannot send from your own domain
Both options send from inboxacademy.io. There is no way to send course emails from your own domain, and no DNS records for you to set up.
That is a deliberate trade. Sending from your own domain means managing SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, and a mistake in any of them means your lessons quietly land in spam. Sending from a domain whose reputation is already established and maintained means your emails arrive.
Your name is still on the email
The sender name, the enrollment page, and - if you switch it on - your organization's name and social links in the email footer all carry your branding. The domain in the address is the one part that does not.
Quizzes and decisions answered inside the email
Quizzes that a learner answers without leaving their inbox rely on a Google feature that only works for sender addresses registered with them.
Your organization address is not registered with Google by default
Only the platform address is registered. If you switch the course to your organization's address, learners reading in Gmail will no longer see the quiz and decision points inside the email; instead, they will receive a link to follow.
Registering an organization address with Google is a separate step and is not automatic. If having quizzes inside emails without links is important to you, please get in touch before switching to a course that includes quizzes, and we can sort it out. Keep in mind that even if you register, it will not work for all email providers.
For a course of plain lessons, there is nothing to weigh, use your organization's name.
Changing it
The setting lives on the course, under Send course emails from. Changing it affects emails sent from that point on.
